Stuart Syvret's Trinity speech - just "water off a duck's back" says Philip Bailhache

After the Trinity hustings meeting I asked Sir Philip Bailhache for a video comment but he declined.  However, he did confirm that Stuart’s speech was “water off a duck’s back” to him and did not upset him unduly.

I e-mailed AG Le Cocq and invited him to comment on this blog before it was posted. His office responded “no doubt if he has any comments he will be in touch.”

  1. “water off a duck’s back” not quiet the type of response from someone who aims to be the next CM, he should be explaining where Stuart has got it all wrong! or perhaps “water off a duck’s back” is the only response he can give ...

Stuart Syvret was assaulted by a Parishioner, and Bailhache supporter, at the Hustings last night because of this speech, and is taking it no further.

Can you imagine if Phillip Bailhache was assaulted by a Syvret supporter? It would be all over the State Controlled Media and the perpetrator would be facing a 10 stretch from the politicised courts.

Was Glenn Rankine in the audience again?

  6. This video provides a clear contrast to the States Newspaper account. After a few minutes, the crowd seems to have truly quieted. Viewing this video from overseas it is hard to know, but did that quiet indicate some real interest in what Stuart was saying, if not agreement? Did those who were physically present for this speech have that impression? Was it a polite follower of the "quiet and dignified" Sir Bailhache who committed thuggery against Stuart in the defense of such "dignity?"

  7. Shame you didn't zoom in on Bellyaches face when Stuart was telling the truth, that would have been priceless. Maybe next time hey?
